Some of you lovers of “alternative” rock may remember a JUNO-nominated Winnipeg band in the 90s called The Watchmen. They scored three gold albums and In the Trees was a platinum-seller. Their success enabled them to open for The Tragically Hip. Many credit the band’s success to the songwriting prowess of their bassist, Newfoundland-born Ken Tizzard. After The Watchmen disbanded in 2003, The Tizz began working on various projects, first teaming up with Big Wreck’s Ian Thornley and then releasing some solo albums.
