Canadian Billboard Hot 100, 9 March 2012

Last week, precisely one-quarter of the songs on the Canadian Billboard Hot 100 were by Canadian (or partially Canadian) artists.  Carly Rae Jepsen’s double-platinum “Call Me Maybe” was #1 for the 4th week.  Victoria Duffield was the only artist with 2 songs on the chart, and her platinum “Shut Up and Dance” has been on the Hot 100 the longest–exactly half a year!  The highest charting Francophone song was Marie-Mai’s “Sans Cri Sans Haine”.

I thought I’d filter out the songs by foreign artists and simply list all the tunes by Canadian artists and rank them.  The result is below.  Foreign artists with which a Canadian collaborated are in blue and groups which are partially Canadian are in purple.  Let’s support our own and buy our favourites among the tunes below.
