Ontario R&B artist The Weeknd made his upcoming album Beauty Behind the Madness available for pre-order on iTunes, and it immediately topped the internet store’s albums chart. The Weeknd’s “Earned It” recently became the first Canadian single of 2015 to attain multiplatinum sales, although, as a contribution to the Shades of Grey soundtrack, it will not be included among the album’s tracks. To be included are his now gold-certified hit from last year “Often”, recent Top 20 hit “The Hills”, and current smash “Can’t Feel My Face”. The latter has become the highest peaking CanCon single of the year at #6. The song has also reached #6 on the Billboard American Hot 100. In Australia it is up to #3 but has not fared as well in the United Kingdom at #33. Beauty Behind the Madness will be out August 28 and available in both dirty and clean language versions.
Other highly anticipated releases out in the next few months are Lindi Ortega’s Faded Gloryville (August 7), Carly Rae Jepsen’s Emotion (August 21), Metric’s Pagans in Vegas (September 18), and The Sheepdogs’ Future Nostalgia (October 2).
