Via a phone call from Calgary at 1:15 a.m. local time, Canadian recording artist Raghav was on the air at BBC radio in London to chat about his new single “Until the Sun Comes Up”. Like Kiesza (also from Calgary incidentally), Raghav broke through in Britain before hitting mainstream Canada. His initial UK success was quite astonishing. He was the only artist in the world who scored three UK Top 10 singles within the year 2004. Those tracks were “So Confused”, “Can’t Get Enough”, and “It Can’t Be Right”. The following year, “Angel Eyes” also made the British Top 10. Raghav became known to Canadian CHR later on thanks mainly to his gold-certified single “Fire” in 2011. He was nominated for a JUNO award for R&B hit “So Much” with Kardinal Offishall.
Raghav stated in his BBC interview that he wants to create music that makes people feel a great sense of joy and hopes that the latest song he has written will do just that. “Until the Sun Comes Up” has just been released with a music video out in the next couple of weeks. There is potential for mammoth buzz, as he brought in two very big names to add their vocal talents to the collaboration that it is. You will not believe who’s on this thing!
The first has 7 million followers on Twitter and is known to anyone familiar with the Bollywood scene, especially for his role in the Dhoom series. The second is a household name in the west, an American recording artist known for hits like “Hot in Herre”, “Dilemma”, “Shake Ya Tailfeather”, “Grillz” and “Just a Dream”.
Yes, Raghav’s new single features Abhishek Bachchan and Nelly!
