Canadian Hot 100, 8 September 2015

Just as in the United Kingdom, Australia, and United States, Justin Bieber and The Weeknd are tops on the single and album charts respectively. The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness was the #1 album in Canada last week, selling 35,000 copies, just shy of gold. It is the 6th Canadian album to top the charts in 2015. Right behind him at #2 is Roses by Coeur de Pirate. On the Billboard Hot 100, Justin Bieber debuts at #1 with new single “What Do You Mean”. It is his second song to top the charts, the first being “Boyfriend”. The new song sold 48,000 copies which is the highest one-week total for a single in almost 2 years. “Where Are U Now” which features him attains a new peak position at #5. Several songs from The Weeknd’s album debut on the chart. “The Hills” reaches a new peak at #12. Coeur de Pirate’s “Carry On” re-enters the Hot 100. Drake’s “Hotline Bling” reaches the Top 40.
