While Britain’s One Direction has perched itself on top of iTunes Canada, “Sugar” by German EDM specialist Robin Schulz featuring Canada’s Francesco Yates has topped the iTunes France songs chart. Perhaps the French like the first part of Francesco’s name. Given that the track sits at #56 on iTunes Canada, it may have more to do with the grass being greener on the other side. France is the world’s 5th largest music market so topping their iTunes is definitely a plus for the Toronto native. Last month, the song hit #1 in Germany, the world’s 3rd biggest market. Francesco’s previous hit “Better to Be Loved” broke into the Billboard Canada Top 40. New single “Call” is moving up the charts. Francesco released his debut self-titled EP on September 11.
