He is nominated in the categories Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (“Can’t Feel My Face”), Favourite Male Artist – Soul/R&B, and Favourite Album – Soul/R&B (Beauty Behind the Madness). Toronto rapper Drake has two nominations: Favourite Artist – Rap, and Favourite Album – Rap (If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late). Stratford, Ontario’s Justin Bieber is nominated for Collaboration of the Year (“Where Are U Now” with Skrillex and Diplo). The American Music Awards were launched by Dick Clark in 1973. Winners are determined solely by votes from the general public. However, to vote, one must be within the borders of the United States. This year’s show will be hosted by Selena star Jennifer Lopez.
