Canadian Hot 100, 19 October 2015

Seven of the Top 10 albums in Canada this week are from home-grown artists three of which are new entries. With If I Should Go Before You, City and Colour has scored the year’s eighth number one album from a Canadian artist! Corb Lund’s Things That Can’t Be Undone is at #8 and Chris Hadfield’s Space Sessions: Songs from a Tin Can at #10. Albums from Mario Pelchat (#6) and Brigitte Boisjoli (#7) spend their third week in the Top 10. Coeur de Pirate’s Roses rebounds back into the Top 10 at #5, and The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness is at #4.

On the Billboard Hot 100, after five consecutive weeks at #1, Justin Bieber bows to his fellow Canadian R&B artist The Weeknd whose “The Hills” hits #1 after 21 weeks on the chart! It is the third #1 single from a Canadian in 2015 after the aforementioned “What Do You Mean” from Bieber and The Weeknd’s other smash “Can’t Feel My Face”. Two new Canadian entries in the Hot 100 are Hedley’s “Hello” (#46) and “Ghosts” (#87) from Calgary’s Charlie.
