deadmau5 Scores Triple Platinum Single

Since the beginning of the digital era, 18 Canadian artist singles have reached a certification level of triple platinum or higher. Tops is Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” at 9xPlatinum followed closely by Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” at 8xPlatinum. The first Canadian artist digital download release to hit the 3xPlatinum mark is Nelly Furtado’s 2006 “Promiscuous”. The tally of 18 has just now been bumped up to 19 thanks to deadmau5 who scores his first triple platinum single for “Ghosts ‘N’ stuff”. While making it only to #53 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, steady sales since its release in 2008 have pushed it up to the milestone. Music Canada has recently awarded the EDM specialist a host of certifications for both albums and singles which are listed below.
