Canadian electronic recording artist LIGHTS will be releasing an acoustic version of her JUNO award winning third studio album Little Machines entitled Midnight Machines. LIGHTS has placed nine songs on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 since her breakout in 2008 with gold single “Drive My Soul” which helped her win the Best New Artist JUNO the following year. Albums The Listening and Siberia both struck gold in Canada, and Little Machines spawned her second gold single, “Up We Go”. The LP was her first to make the Billboard Top 40 albums in the United States, and with it she won her second JUNO Award (Pop Album of the Year). LIGHTS has well over a million Facebook likes and nearly 700k Twitter followers. She also released an acoustic version of her album Siberia.
Midnight Machines will contain eight tracks and is out April 8. LIGHTS will follow with some shows. You can pre-order special bundles from her website. While she likes to swing between the electronic and the acoustic, we are keeping our fingers crossed that she goes electric in the future as well. An AC/DC rock goddess would definitely grace her stellar portfolio! We have embedded below her newly released video for the beautiful acoustic version of “Meteorites”. LIGHTS is one of the finest songwriters of the modern era. iTunes
