Halifax R&B specialist Erin Costelo releases sumptuous mood music extravaganza Down Below, The Status Quo. Platinum JUNO nominee Nicola Ciccone lets his fabulous vocal talent rip on adult contemporary work, Esprit libre. Montreal’s Laura Sauvage attracted a writeup from iTunes staff with her LP Extraordinormal, garage rock with undercurrents of roots music. Sherbrooke’s Fanny Bloom reinterprets a few tracks from previous albums and gives us some new numbers on her new self-titled album, a more adult contemporary sound than her previous alt-pop pep. Rapper Sadik provides lessons in Réincarnation on his latest disc. Toronto guitarist Ron Hawkins is back with Spit Sputter and Sparkle. Also from CN Towerville, rock group Sam Cash & The Romantic Dogs present Tongue-In-Cheek Vows. Creative genius, Saint-Césaire, QC’s Rosie Valland, follows up her excellent debut alternative album from last year with EP Nord-est. Toronto singer-songwriter outfit Great Lake Swimmers contribute folky EP Swimming Away with four beautiful tracks. Both EPs are worth checking out.
