The big news with the new batch of gold/platinum certifications announced by Music Canada is that Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” has hit the quadruple platinum mark for 320,000 digital downloads. It is only the fifth single in the digital era from a Canadian artist to achieve this, the others being “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke (9x platinum), “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen (8x platinum), “I Believe” by Nikki Yanofsky (4x platinum), and “Inner Ninja” by Classified featuring David Myles (4x platinum). “Sorry” is thus Bieber’s most successful single sales-wise in Canada.
