Music Canada Has Certified 44 Singles Diamond to Date

There are no conflict diamonds being mined in music! Diamond certification is awarded to pieces of music that reach the equivalent of ten times platinum. Currently, this means 800,000 units. A unit for a song can be the sale of a physical copy, such as a CD single, or a purchased digital download. In recent years Music Canada has also factored in on-demand audio streams. The current definition is 150 streams count as one unit. With this, we currently have 44 diamond-certified singles. Six of these are from Canadian artists (not including Justin Bieber’s feature in “Despacito”). Most of these songs have been released in the past several years with the oldest being from 2010. It may come as a surprise but the artist scoring the most diamond-certified singles is Post Malone with six. Find a listing of the songs below.
